If you haven’t already noticed, commercially prepared chocolate dipped strawberries are usually ridiculously expensive. But then again, they are also ridiculously delicious. What’s a girl (or guy) to do? I decided: rather than spend a small fortune for just a few bites, why not try making my own?
And I couldn’t believe it: they were so easy to make. The preparation takes just a few minutes and bonus: I have complete control over each ingredient I choose to include (that’s a huge plus for me!). Oh yeah, and this Paleo and vegan recipe only calls for three ingredients.
So whether for Valentine’s Day or any other occasion that calls for an easy-to-make dessert, these sweet and decadent bites are sure to please:

- 12 fresh organic strawberries
- ½ cup allergen-free chocolate chips (Equal Exchange are organic, fair-trade, dairy-free, and soy-free)
- 1 Tbsp unrefined/virgin coconut oil
-
Wash, drain and dry strawberries. Line a baking sheet or large flat plate with wax paper.
-
Using a double boiler (I used a small pot topped with a heat resistant glass bowl), melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil together. Stir until the chocolate has completely melted.
-
Once fully melted, remove from heat. Dip strawberries one by one and carefully place on lined baking sheet or plate. Refrigerate strawberries for at least one hour to allow the chocolate to solidify.
-
Once your chocolate has hardened, your strawberries are ready to go. Enjoy!
