I love making homemade bone broth, but sometimes it’s a little hard to keep up with our household demand. Although bone broth is easy to make, it’s still takes time (and ingredients), and sometimes I run out of both! Regardless of the reason, many of us don’t always have the time to make bone broth at home, so it’s convenient to have options to buy quality pre-made bone broth. Luckily, there are some brands that make quality bone broth that can be shipped directly to your home.
Why Bone Broth?
I’ve become quite accustomed to having bone broth readily available in our home at all times. Because of its many health benefits, it’s become a staple for us. In particular, it’s my go-to whenever I need something healing to soothe my tummy, or when I’m starting to feel under the weather and am looking for immune support. Regardless of the reason, I’ve learned that it’s one of the most powerful “superfoods” for anyone with autoimmune disease, anyone looking to improve their immune function, or anyone working on healing their gut.
I also like to include bone broth in my dog’s anti-cancer diet as we treat his intestinal lymphoma, yet another reason we always like to have bone broth on hand in our home. If you’re following a Paleo or primal nutrition plan, you’re probably already a fan.
AIP-Friendly and Limited Ingredient Pre-Made Bone Broth
Some of us need to seek out versions that are AIP-friendly or contain very few ingredients. In particular, onion and pepper can be irritants for certain autoimmune conditions, so some do better with more “plain” bone broth options. I also like to include bone broth in Luciano’s anti-cancer diet, and ingredients like onions are a no-no for dogs! So in the following list of commercially-prepared pre-made bone broth brands, I’ve included options for those looking for AIP-friendly and limited-ingredient versions!
Of course, if you can find quality brands at your local grocery store or farmer’s market, that’s certainly ideal! But for the rest of us, these online sources may prove to be very convenient:

Where to Find Pre-Made Bone Broth:
1. Kettle & Fire
Kettle & Fire offers slow and long simmered chicken and beef bone broth make with organic ingredients and the most nutrient-dense, pasture-raised bones. And thanks to a special packaging technology, Kettle & Fire’s bone broth is shelf-stable for up to 2 years (unopened) without any preservatives or additives. Plus, their packaging and shipping are environmentally friendly. What more could we ask for?
2. The Brothery (from The Flavor Chef)
The Flavor Chef offers numerous flavor blends made from organic chicken and/or grass-fed beef bones, including AIP and GAPS-friendly options. They offer blends that are free of both pepper and onions, and they also offer a “2-hour chicken meat broth” which is ideal for those who have histamine intolerance or are in the early stages of healing their leaky gut. The broth is stored in BPA-free pouches which makes for super easy freezing.
3. US Wellness Meats
With an immensely varied selection of pasture-raised proteins and other Paleo-friendly foods, US Wellness Meats is a great source for pre-made pastured bone broth. They also offer a selection of nutrient-dense bones for those times when you want to make homemade bone broth. This is one of my favorite places to shop for quality Paleo proteins.
4. Smart Simple Gourmet
I love Smart Simple Gourmet for two main reasons. First, the ingredient blends really are simple! Only pastured bones, water, and apple cider vinegar. That’s it: perfect for those with numerous food sensitivities or a highly sensitive gut! Second, this bone broth is often available on Amazon Fresh, which makes it so convenient if you are an Amazon Fresh customer (like me). If not, no need to worry, you can order directly from their website too. This is an ideal brand for those looking for plain, AIP-friendly broth that is safe for most dogs to consume too.
5. Au Bon Bone Broth
While I haven’t tried it myself yet, this brand offers organic, limited-ingredient (AIP-friendly) options via a monthly subscription (including no sodium options!).
6. Bare Bones Broth
Bare Bones Broth is slow-cooked and comes from grass-fed, organic, and pastured sources. They come in spouted pouches for easy storage (i.e. freezing) and easy pouring.
7. EPIC
EPIC is known for their grass-fed protein bars and other primal foods, and fortunately for us, they also make bone broth! Their bone broth is low-simmered for long durations and sourced from grass-fed, organic, and certified humane bones (from animals raised in open pasture). They offer several unique ingredient combinations, and the broth is shelf stable and only needs to be refrigerated after opening.
These are just a few sources for quality pre-made bone broth, but be sure to check out locally made products too. Primal Pastures, for example, ships to (most) addresses in California, Arizona, and Nevada, and their bone broth is sourced from the best (in my opinion) soy-free, pastured chickens. Likewise, Los Angeles-based Cherry’s Gourmet (made by Probiotic Boost) offers both low-simmered seasoned and unseasoned broths and delivers within a 20-mile radius of their kitchen. If you can, try to support your local food companies and farmer’s markets!
So even if you don’t have time to make homemade bone broth, there are many options for quality Paleo-friendly pre-made bone broth from which to choose. Do you have a favorite brand of pre-made bone broth? Please comment and share!
Thank you for making this list. I never had the time to make my own bone broth because of how busy I am. I’m now drinking Au Bon Broth which was recommended by a friend. I love it because of its right taste and it’s organic too.
That’s great to know, Cameron! That’s one brand I haven’t tried yet. It’s so nice to have quality commercial options. Thanks for sharing your experience and feedback!
Very good article. I certainly love this site. Keep writing!
