Paleo on the Go Review

One of the most difficult aspects of being able to stick to a lifestyle diet like Paleo (or keto or Whole30) is keeping up with the cooking demand. It’s not easy to cook every meal from scratch. There are so many times I’m tempted to dine out or order in, but this usually means veering from my food plan because I don’t know (or can’t control) what ingredients are in my food. That’s why I love having Paleo on the Go ready-made meals as an option. They do all the cooking for me, and I can trust all the ingredients that go into their meals.

Paleo on the Go offers fully prepared, frozen Paleo, AIP, ketogenic, and Whole30 compliant meals (made with clean ingredients) delivered to your doorstep. You just reheat and serve. I especially love that Paleo on the Go is transparent about all the ingredients they source, using pasture-raised meats, poultry, and pork; natural/stable cooking oils (i.e. no vegetable or industrial oils!); and organic produce when possible (particularly for anything on the Dirty Dozen list).

Typically, dining out or ordering in is a risk for me, since I can never know exactly what ingredients are in my food. Anyone with severe food sensitivities can probably attest to this. So Paleo on the Go is a game-changer for me: I can see exactly what ingredients are in each dish, and I can feel confident that they have been sourced from quality providers. Having safe food options that I don’t have to cook myself? Yes, please!

Not Just Paleo: AIP, Keto, Whole30

Paleo on the Go makes it easy to choose your meals based on whichever dietary plan you’re following. While everything on the menu is Paleo-friendly, they also have sections devoted specifically to the following lifestyle diets:

  • Autoimmune Protocol (AIP)
  • ketogenic (keto)
  • “Strict 30” (Whole30 compliant)

This is particularly useful for me, because while I’m not fully AIP, I do avoid nightshades (such as tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, and white potatoes). So the AIP section makes it quick and easy to find meals that are safe to consume considering my food intolerances (yay!).

Paleo on the Go Favorites

I also love the variety of selections that Paleo on the Go has to offer. Since I started eating nightshade-free, one of things I miss most is tomato sauce. So I was so thrilled to discover Paleo on the Go’s “Nomato Sauce,” a tomato-free, nightshade-free, AIP-compliant “marinara” sauce. Made with ingredients such as beets and sweet potatoes, this sauce is a delicious and healthy replacement for tomato sauce. I can’t get enough of it!

And speaking of not being able to get enough, I’m also may or may not now have an addiction to the Apple Cinnamon Paleo Tarts (a.k.a Paleo on the Go’s version of “Pop-Tarts”). Of course, they’re not nearly as sweet as those conventional toaster pastries (and that’s a good thing!). But they provide the perfect amount of sweet when I’m looking for an occasional quick sweet snack. I take them from the freezer to the toaster oven, and they’re ready to go. (They are seriously so yummy.)

(UPDATE: my new favorite is the Cuban Picadillo, which is AIP and keto-friendly. Sooooo flavorful and pairs wonderfully with the Paleo AIP Tortillas! Yum!)

Some of our household favorites from Paleo on the Go are:

  • Homemade Chicken Pot Pie (AIP)
  • Cuban Picadillo (AIP, keto) {my new favorite!!!}
  • Moo Shu Pork Tacos (AIP) {pictured above}
  • Grass Fed Beef Chili (keto, Whole30)
  • Grass Fed Beef Taco Kit with Salsa Verde (AIP)
  • Hearty Beef Stew (AIP, keto) {pictured above}
  • Cream of Broccoli Soup (AIP, Whole30)
  • Rosemary Garlic Roasted Root Veggies (AIP)
  • Nomato Marinara Sauce (AIP)
  • Apple Cinnamon Paleo Tarts (AIP) {pictured above}
  • Perfectly Paleo Chocolate Chip Cookies

Even Jeremy, who isn’t Paleo, loves these meals. Some of the meals are seasonal, so there’s always a variety of options being rotated into the mix. One word of advice, however: try to snag your desired products when you see they are available because popular items tend to sell out quickly (they’ll restock, but I’m terribly impatient, so I had to mention it).

Whether you’re traveling, don’t have time to cook, or just need a break from cooking, Paleo on the Go offers many convenient options for healthy eating.
